“Fine Cider” is the name used for premium, bottle-conditioned and bottle-fermented ciders, usually presented in 750ml wine or Champagne-style bottles.
It was actually British traditional cider-makers of old who perfected this method of bottle fermentation, and created the stronger glass bottles needed to contain it. There simply would not be a Champagne industry today if cider makers hadn’t got there first.
Fine Cider is to Craft Cider what Champagne is to already good wine – everything intensified just a little more - complexity, balance and depth of flavour. You get that classic cork pop, and wallop of bubbles on pouring, and it is a really great lighter alternative to Champagne or Prosecco.
Our collection contains 3 of the best from Pilton Cider and Worley’s in Somerset, and Tom Oliver in Herefordshire, prepare for an assault on your tastebuds and change your views of cider forever!
- Fine cider is the best and most premium cider produced, and is bottle-fermented from apple juice just like Champagne is from grapes
- The result is a mature, complex and rounded cider, sparkling and every bit as comparable to good Prosecco and Champagne
- Served chilled, and in champagne flutes to admire those bubbles. Who needs a special occasion to crack open a bottle
- You will get a 750ml bottle each of Worleys Special Reserve and Pilton from Somerset, and Olivers Pet Nat 2018 from the Herefordshire heartlands.
