What a case of Festive joyfulness we have created here - a sensational and quite different mix than usual, some super premium bottles, and classic Christmassy styles, including 3 still ciders for a more wine-like experience. A fabulous Subscriber box, but equally wonderful as a one -off box as a Gift, and superb value for as 2 of the bottles alone usually sell for over £14 between them.
Let us tell you what we have rustled up for you - each case contains:
Temple Cider - Whisky-Barrel Aged Dry (Still) - Dorset 7%
A lovely smooth, rich still cider, aged in Whisky Barrels for 3 Months to impart a distinctive note, perfect served at room temperature with Christmas cake or a mince pie.
The Newt Signature Blend Medium Dry - Somerset 6%
A classic signature blend of over 20 apple varieties grown at the famous Newt Hotel and Estate near us in Somerset. Beautifully light and smooth, serve chilled with cheese.
Saxby's Mulled Cider (Still) Leicestershire 4%
With all the hard work done for you, it is literally Christmas in a bottle. Packed with bold appley flavour, spiced with hints of cardamon, cinnamon and star anise. Warm (not boil) for best flavour - and eat with cake or mince pie, or savoury sausages, pork pie or nuts.
Southdown Festival Cider (still) Sweet - Somerset 6%
Rob makes stunningly good cider, and in 2019 won the Bath & West Overall Champion. Festival is his lower tannin, lighter cider, but still packs a big flavour punch and 6% too - quite an enigma. Pair with Christmas pudding, mince pies or those tempting chocolates that are always around.
Crafty Nectar Elephant in the Room 750ml Dry - Somerset 6.8%
A luxurious smooth dry, still cider, aged in French Oak for 24 months before being bottled. Made from a blend of Chisel Jersey, Somerset Redstreak and Dabinett, this cider is bold and rich with a smoky finish.
Pilton Tamoshanta Medium Sweet 2021 - 330ml - Somerset 4.5%
How could we not include this offering from Cider royalty - Martin at Pilton produces sensational and different ciders originally from the village where the Glasto Festival happens. Keeving and initial fermentation takes place in large vats but on Burns Night the young cider is transferred to whisky barrels to finish and mature.
Naturally sweet Somerset cider, partially fermented in scotch whisky barrels, from Speyside. Soft fruity sweetness embraces gentle vanilla tannins and leads you to a delicate smokey finish. Tamoshanta is great served chilled, with Somerset Cheddar.
